About the Welsh Language Enabler

The Welsh Language Enabler is a new role, created to support the arts sector in developing actions to promote the use of Welsh in their work and develop imaginative and engaging approaches to assist both the Arts Council and key stakeholders to think and act differently in respect of the Welsh language agenda. The Welsh Language Enabler will work in partnership with the Arts Council, its staff, and its key stakeholders to connect the Welsh language development sector and the arts sector to collectively achieve our ambitions in respect of the Welsh language.

About you

First and foremost, you’ll have knowledge and enthusiasm for the Welsh language. You will be able to think creatively and imaginatively when developing new approaches and ways of delivering change in relation to the use of the Welsh language, and you will be able to inspire people to embrace the Welsh language by being an engaging and encouraging advocate.

We work in both English and Welsh. Due to the nature of this particular role, fluency in Welsh (both written and spoken) to a minimum of Level 3 is essential for this post. We can support you to develop and improve your language skills further and to increase your confidence in speaking and writing in Welsh.

Full time, 37 hours per week

3 year fixed term contract

Grade D: Starting salary of £37,957

Location: Usually this role can be based at any one of the Arts Council of Wales offices in Cardiff, Colwyn Bay or Carmarthen. We are currently working from home.
