TBC is offering three seed commissions to queer and/or trans creatives of colour who are from or are based in Wales, to respond to the theme of Welsh rural queer life.
Art forms could include (but are not limited to) music, visual art, photography, theatre, poetry, performance art, dance, arts in community or education and archival projects.
Your work will sit alongside the initial development for a new musical theatre show being developed by Tom Bevan (Producer), Matthew Xia (Director) and Tonderai Munyevu (Playwright), funded by Arts Council Wales. Between June-September 2024, we will support the successful artists with research, project planning and with spaces for you to share your work alongside our show in development. More information about our show will be shared with commissioned artists; its story, themes and music may also help inform or inspire some of your work. Your creative responses may be shared in-person as well as online.
TBC is inviting artists to submit their initial ideas for a piece of work that responds to the theme. Each of the three commissions is worth £1,000, and we are asking artists to send in an initial budget of how they might spend the money which includes a meaningful fee for yourself.

- Please tell us more about your idea and how it relates to the theme. You can send this as written text (1 page maximum), or a video (2 mins maximum) or a voice note ( 2 mins maximum).
- Please attach a budget, either as text or in an excel spreadsheet, for how you intend to spend the £1,000.

You are a visual artist from Pembrokeshire and you want to paint the landscape of Bannau Brycheiniog. You need 3 days to paint. You want to travel from Pembrokeshire. You need some new materials, and you would like to stay for 3 nights at an Airbnb before travelling back home. Your project budget might look something like this:
