Are you a creative, enthusiastic, and organised individual with a passion for classical music and arts engagement? We're looking for a Marketing Support Assistant to join our Cardiff Classical Series team at Arts Active, supporting the promotion of a range of inspiring projects and concerts across Cardiff.
The Cardiff Classical Series offers engaging musical experiences for both adults and young people, including interactive workshops, recitals, and concerts in local venues across Cardiff.
We aim to inspire new audiences and support creative learning through music. We're seeking someone who shares this vision and is eager to develop their marketing skills in a vibrant, arts-focused environment.
Role Responsibilities:
As a Marketing Support Assistant, your key responsibilities will include:
• Creating and designing marketing assets for digital and print platforms (social media graphics, flyers, newsletters, posters, programmes)
• Writing and editing promotional copy for websites, press releases, event listings, newsletters, and social media
• Assisting in the planning and delivery of marketing campaigns for individual events and series
• Assisting updates to social media channels (Instagram, Facebook) with engaging and relevant content
• Managing and updating mailing lists and newsletter platforms (e.g. Mailchimp)
• Supporting event promotion and audience engagement before, during, and after events
• Taking photographs and video content during workshops and concerts for future marketing use
• Conducting audience research and gathering feedback
• Assisting with administrative tasks related to marketing and event delivery.
Working alongside the Arts Active Marketing & Communications Officer and reporting directly to the Deputy Community, Learning and Partnerships Manager
What We’re Looking For...
Essential:
• Experience in arts administration and/or marketing
• Proficient in using design and administrative software (e.g. Canva, Adobe Suite, Microsoft Office)
• Experience producing marketing materials and content for different platforms
• Friendly, approachable, and professional manner
• Flexible availability, including some evenings or weekends for events
• Proactive and solutions-focused attitude
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team
• Over the age of 18
Desirable:
• Degree in Music, Arts Management, Marketing, or related field
• Previous experience in arts marketing or cultural sector communications
• Experience working on educational or community-based projects
• Interest in classical music and music education
• A current DBS check
• Welsh language skills (spoken or written)

Example Working Patterns:
• One day a week
• Two half days a week
This role primarily runs from October 2025 to July 2026, with the potential for ongoing opportunities in future Cardiff Classical Series programmes.
