Arts Council of Wales | The Arts In Wales Survey 2005

The Arts In Wales Survey 2005

During 2004-05 the Arts Council of Wales commissioned a major new survey of attitudes, attendances and participation in the arts in Wales. Nearly 7,000 people were interviewed for the survey to find out:

  • What kind of arts events they attend.
  • Which arts activities they take part in.
  • Whether they listen to or watch the arts on CD, radio, TV or the internet.
  • What they think about the arts.

The results show that the arts play a vital role in the lives of people in Wales, making a difference to individuals and to society as a whole.
The findings also show the overwhelming public support for using public money to support the arts.
