Creative Communities

An opportunity for adults with mental health problems to access high quality arts activities.

What is Creative Communities?

Creative Communities is a mental health arts project funded by Carmarthenshire County Council and Hywel Dda Health Board.

The project is facilitated by Arts Care Gofal Celf, a member of Arts Portfolio Wales and a charity with over 20 years’ experience of delivering high quality projects with people of all ages, backgrounds and lifestyles.

Conversations with staff and individuals and carefully designed questionnaires have resulted in a programme of tailored activities that allows participants to access music, visual arts and crafts workshops for 30 weeks of the year.

How does Creative Communities work?

The project gives people a chance to develop existing skills and try new art forms through a number of taster workshops.

A recent survey found that 100% of respondents said that they or their clients had benefited from arts sessions and all of them indicated that they would like to access further opportunities.
