Wales in Venice 2011

Wales’s official representation as a Collateral Event at the Venice Biennale 2011 featured artist Tim Davies at the Wales Pavilion in the Santa Maria Ausiliatrice: the Ludoteca in Castello.

Established in 1895 the Venice Biennale (La Biennale di Venezia) is the oldest, and remains the most important and prestigious event on the international contemporary visual arts calendar. Every two years Venice becomes the world stage with the attention of the world’s visual arts community and media focused on Venice over a six-month period.

The Venice Biennale provides Welsh artists with a key international platform exposing them to critical international coverage, new audiences, markets and contexts.

The exhibition from Wales at the 54th International Art Exhibition is supported by Arts Council of Wales and its grant in aid from the Welsh Government.
