Creative Wales Fellowships 2016/17

The Creative Wales Fellowship will allow us to support individuals to develop practice in a specific field in a specific place with the support and guidance of mentors and experts already working in this arena.

The Fellowship is envisaged as an open ended learning opportunity, enabling a significant artist to utilise an environment as a conducive means to experiment and create work.

Fellowship awards are made in partnership with an organisation who can offer support to the artist involved whether through financial or human resources and will be location specific but will, in the ethos of Creative Wales, be artist, not organisation, led.

This year we offered Fellowships in partnership with two leading arts organisations:

  • Hay International
  • British School at Rome

Jennifer Taylor
Visual Arts Collaboration with the British School at Rome

The recipient of this year's British School at Rome Fellowship is Jennifer Taylor.

The British School at Rome is a centre of interdisciplinary research excellence in the Mediterranean supporting the full range of arts, humanities and social sciences. It is respected internationally for its Fine Arts residency programme for visual artists

We will be supporting a place for a contemporary visual artist from Wales on their Fellowship programme.
