Creative Learning through the Arts

Let’s celebrate! Creative learning through the arts: 2-6 April 2019

Arts Council of Wales in partnership with Welsh Government is delighted to have the opportunity to showcase the wealth of learning that is surfacing as a result of the ground-breaking programme, Creative learning through the arts – an action plan for Wales.

Let’s celebrate! Creative learning through the arts is a series of free events taking place across 5 days in April, located in Cardiff Bay. It will highlight all areas of the programme; both the Lead Creative Schools Scheme and the All-Wales Arts and Education Offer including Creative Collaborations projects and the Regional Arts and Education Networks activity.

Creative Learning through the Arts – an action plan for Wales sets out a range of new opportunities for children and young people across Wales.

At the core of this activity will be learning about the arts and culture, participating in the arts and developing creative skills across the curriculum.

Creative Learning through the Arts aims to

  • Improve attainment through creativity
  • Increase and improve arts experience and opportunities in schools
  • Deliver on the three education priorities: improving literacy, numeracy, and reducing the impact of disadvantage
  • Support teachers and arts practitioners in developing their skills

We believe that creativity is essential to the success and fulfilment of young people. It is, in essence, the basis of lifelong learning, and that begins in our schools.

Creative Learning through the Arts is a partnership between Welsh Government and Arts Council of Wales - putting creativity and the arts at the heart of learning.

How does it work?
