Gwyn-WilliamsGwyn joined Arts Council of Wales in September 2017 . He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy .and also a Chartered Secretary and Administrator having studied in Gwent and the University of Glamorgan. He has spent his entire career working in the public sector in local government, NHS and more recently the Police service, fulfilling a range of roles in auditing and financial management.

Having started his career back in 1979 with Rhondda Borough Council he quickly moved on to Mid Glamorgan County Council and carried out a number of financial administration roles before moving into internal audit. Following this, he spent time in the NHS and lead on the introduction of scrutiny and quality assurance processes in the Prescription Pricing Authority as well as auditing large scale construction works.

A move back to Rhondda Borough Council saw him take a lead role in internal audit services. He was heavily involved in local government reorganisation in 1996 and became Group Auditor before moving back into financial management firstly to deliver a large scale budget review of Social Services and then take up the newly created role of Community Services Finance Manager, putting together a large team and delivering financial support to several service areas.

In 2003 he took up the post of Chief Accountant in Bridgend County Borough Council before moving onto to his previous position in South Wales Police. As Assistant Director Corporate Finance he oversaw strategic financial support as well as all the exchequer functions including payroll and pensions. During this period police forces were subject to stringent funding reductions and the role was key in the delivery of savings plans and invest to save initiatives.

He was born and bred in Ferndale a small village in the Rhondda but now lives in Bridgend.
