Independent HR & Remuneration Committee Member

22 Nov 2018

Three year term initially
The position is unpaid, although we pay reasonable travel and subsistence expenses
Committee meetings are usually held in Cardiff Bay

We are looking for a new independent member to join our HR & Remuneration Committee.

Council has established a HR & Remuneration Committee to support them in discharging their responsibilities for issues of recruitment, retention and management of staff, and for the pay and conditions of service in meeting the Council’s and Accounting Officer’s (our Chief Executive) governance needs for the organisation, and to ensure that they contribute effectively to the delivery of the Council’s strategic goal and business needs.

We are particularly interested in applicants with a successful track record in a senior HR role, ideally including the public and/or charitable sectors, preferably with CIPD accreditation, and with experience of working as part of a committee.

We are also keen to hear from applicants with senior managerial experience, an understanding of public or third sector organisations and, preferably, the delivery of professional services in a particular sector which ultimately benefits the public of Wales.

First-hand experience of change management, and of dealing with the challenges faced by public organisations in the current environment, would also be beneficial.

The successful applicants will need to demonstrate a willingness to attend and participate in committee meetings, and to support the Arts Council’s aims, values and objectives.

We work in both English and Welsh and fluency in Welsh (both written and spoken) is desirable but not essential for this role.
