Richard Turner

Richie has worked in a variety of roles in the arts, higher education and the public sector specialising in innovation, business development and evaluation. He’s been a freelance arts consultant for many years working with clients as diverse as the Royal College of Organists and Operasonic to Butetown History and Arts Centre and Tai Calon Community Housing.

He is a lecturer on the MA Arts Management at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, an external assessor for BBC Children In Need, and is currently working to support the evaluation of the Arts+Minds programme in Blaenau Gwent run by Tai Calon Community Housing, Head4Arts and Aneurin Leisure Trust (as part of Ideas People Places).

His previous roles include: Projects Director: Enterprise and Innovation and Project Manager Digital Innovation for Artis Community; Innovation Associate for Monmouthshire County Council; Associate of The Satori Lab (public sector innovation) and Native HQ (social media development); Deputy Director of the Global Innovation Academy at the University of Wales; the first Wales Manager for Nesta and various senior roles at the Arts Council of Wales. He was also Director of Cardiff and District Multicultural Arts (CADMAD) and co-founded the award winning Nofit State Circus.
